The novel coronavirus pneumonia(新型冠状病毒肺炎) broke out in Wuhan, Hubei province in December

2019. Later, it spread to other parts of China. Many people got ill. This year the city was locked down from January

to April to prevent the virus from spreading further to other places.

The city built two hospitals for the people with the novel coronavirus. They are Leishenshan Hospital and

Huoshenshan Hospital. Builders worked hours a day and they worked very fast. They built the hospitals in two

weeks. The two hospitals have a big capacity(容量) and one of them has room for 1, 600 beds.

More than 120, 000 people, including engineers, construction workers, volunteers, and over 30, 000 medical

workers, came to help the city. They worked without breaks.

Wuhan has made sacrifices(牺牲). But it has protected China and the world.

Zak's grandfather ， Stan was very famous ． Why ？ Because he had a very ， very ， very long white

beard（胡子）．

One day， Zak asked his grandfather， "When you sleep， do you put your beard over or under the quilt（被

子）？" "I'm not sure． I never care about that，" said his grandfather， "I'll look tonight．"

Stan got into bed that night and pulled up the quilt． Then he remembered his grandson's question． Aha! His

Stan spent a sleepless night． In the morning， he was so tired and unhappy that he cut his long beard right

off!

Stan's wife was so happy． She advised Stan to cut that beard off many times， but he never did it． Now a

simple question made him do that．

Because of this, Chinese is now a popular foreign language for Russian students. Now, 123 primary and

middle schools in the country have Chinese classes, according to Sputnik （俄罗斯卫星通讯社）. The

Russian students like learning Chinese languages in class.

This year, Russian middle school students will have some Chinese textbooks. People’s Education

Press（出版社）in China helped a local press make them. Students will use the textbooks to learn Chinese

in class. For students in the 9th grade, a Chinese language test will be in their exams in 2018.

“Our cooperation with China is growing.” said an education officer in Russia. “And the Chinese

language becomes more important. ”

In China, there are 24 solar terms（节气）in a year. And there are six of them in winter. They are beginning

Robots have built a big house in Switzerland using 3D-printed materials. It is the first house made by robots

for people to live in. It is more environmentally friendly and safer than man-made houses.

The creators say the big house will inspire the future of building. “This is a new way seeing architecture（建

筑）,” said one of the creators. "How you build is important."

The big house was built completely from robot-made materials. It used 60% less cement（水泥）than a man-

made house. Its ceilings（天花板）were made with a 3D printer. There are 35 parts in the house and each one was

built in 60 to 90 minutes. It means that the robots built the full house in just 48 hours.

It is not the first time for robots to build houses. The Chinese used 3D printers to build 10 houses in a day in
