中考专题之数词讲解

一、数词基本分类

英语中的数词分为两大类，一类为基数词，如 1,2,3......等等，主要用来表示数量；一

类为序数词，如第一、第二、第三........等等，主要用来表示顺序；

二、数词的主要考点

（一）1-10 基数词和序数词的转换

one-first; two-second; three-third; four- fourth; five-fifth; six-sixth;

Seven-seventh; eight-eighth; nine-ninth; ten-tenth;

高频考点：twelve-twelfth; twenty-twentieth

（二）序数词前一般要加定冠词 the, 但是当其前面有物主代词时，再不加 the;

I'm the first one to arrive here. 我是第一个到达这儿的人

Today is my ninth birthday. 今天是我的第九个生日

（三）hundred, thousand, million, billion 等词前面有具体数字时，直接用；没有具体数

字时，既要加 s, 又要加 of, s 和of 不分家

如：three hundred seats 三百个座位

five thousand students 五千个学生

millions of trees 数以百万颗树

（四）表示“居住在几楼、多少岁生日，比赛中赢得第几名、几月是一年中的第几个

月”时，要用序数词

I live on the twelfth floor. 我住在 12 楼

This is his eighteenth birthday 这是他的 18 岁生日

He won the third place in the competition/match.

他在比赛中获得了第三名

April is the fourth month of a year.

四月是一年中的第四个月

（五）表示“某人多少岁”时，用：in one’s+数词的复数形式，

例如：

In his fifties, he went to The Great Wall with his wife

在他五十岁时，他和妻子去了长城

（六）表示“年代”时，用：in+the+基数词（s或’s）

This kind of toy is very popular with children in the 1980s(1980’s)

这种玩具在 20 世纪 80 年代很受孩子们欢迎

（七）基数词+years old 与基数词-year-old 之间的区别

基数词+years old，一般跟在系统词后面，构成系表结构；

而基数词-year-old，是一个复合形容词，放在名词前，做定语

例如：He is eight years old= he is an eight-year-old boy

他是一个八岁的男孩

（八）“the+序数词+n”与“a+序数词+n”之间的区别

“the+序数词+n”表示特指“第几个”；“a+序数词+n”表示泛指“又一次，又一个”

例如：His parents have two children,but they want a third one.

他的父母有两个孩子了，但他们还想要一个孩子

His parents have three children,the third one is a girl.

他的父母有三个孩子，第三个是个女孩

（九）分数表达法

分数的构成采用“子基母序”原则，即：分子用基数词，而分母用序数词，

请注意：当分子大于 1时，分母要用复数形式

例如：two fifths 五分之二; four sixths 六分之四；seven ninths 九分之七

请注意特殊分数形式：a quarter 1/4；three quarters 3/4；a half 1/2

高频考点：当名词被分数或百分数修饰，做主语时，其后的谓语动词要与名词的单复

数保持一致。

例如：

Two fifths of the students in our class are going to the summer camp next week.

我们班上五分之二的学生将于下周去参加夏令营

Two thirds of the land is covered with ocean

三分之二的陆地被海洋所覆盖

Ten percent of the teachers in my class are from America

我班上百分之二十的老师是来自美国的

Thirty percent of the water is very dirty

百分之三十的水非常脏

（十）another+数词+名词=数词+more+名词

例如： I want to drink another two cups of tea=I want to drink two more cups of tea 我想再
