Point 1 turn right 向右转
turn 此处用作不及物动词，意为“转向”； right 作副词，意为“向右边”。turn left 是其反义词组。

②turn 可用作连系动词，意为“变得”，表示变化，后跟形容词作表语。

③turn 还可以作名词，意为“(依次轮到的)机会”。

④left/right 还可以作名词，意为“左边/右边”，常构成词组：
turn to the left/right 向左边/右边转
on the left/right 在左边/右边
on one’s left/right 在某人的左边/右边
on the left/right of 在……左边/右边

Point 2 Go along Long Street... 沿着长街走……
此处 along 作介词，意为“沿着”，相当于 down。
We can walk along that road.
我们可以沿着那条路走。
There are trees all along the road.
沿着这条路一直都有树。

along 还可作副词，意为“向前，一道”。与动词连用时，常与 on 同义，表示“向前移动”。

(1) crossing 作名词，意为“十字路口”，“在十字路口”用介词 at。turn right/left at the＋序数词＋crossing.
＝Take the＋序数词＋crossing＋on the right/left.意为“在第几个十字路口向右/左转”。
Turn left at the second crossing.
＝Take the second crossing on the left.
在第二个十字路口向左转。
【辨析】crossing 与turning
两者都是由“动词＋ing”转化成名词的形式，但表达的意思不同。crossing 表示“十字路口”， 而 turning
表示“拐弯处”，不一定是十字路口，可能是三岔路口、丁字路口等。
(2)on one’s left 意为“在某人的左边”，此处 left 作名词，意为“左边”。on one’s right 意为“在某人的右
边”。
Li Lei is sitting on my left.
李雷正坐在我的左边。
Point 4 There is a zoo in my neighborhood.在我家附近有一个动物园。
neighborhood 名词，意为“街区；街坊”。in the neighborhood 意为“在附近”，相当于 near here。in the
neighborhood of..意为“在……的附近”。
Excuse me,is there a bank in the neighborhood/near here?
打扰了，这附近有银行吗？
We live in the neighborhood of the park.
我们住在公园附近。

某些名词+hood 可以构成另一个意思相近的名词。
neighbor（邻居）+hood→neighborhood(街坊）
child（孩子）+hood→childhood(幼年，童年）
Point 5 spend /spend/ v.花（时间、钱等）
spend 作动词，在此句中意为“度过”，还可表示“花费(时间、金钱等)”。常用结构：
sb. spend(s) money/time on sth.
sb. spend(s) money/time (in) doing sth.
I want to spend my winter vacation in France.
我想在法国度过我的寒假。
Some women like to spend money on clothes.
一些女人喜欢在衣服上花钱。
Bob spends a lot of time playing basketball.
鲍勃花大量时间打篮球。
