Point 2 supermarket 超市
supermarket 可数名词，意为＂超市＂。
There is a supermarket near my home.

【辨析】supermarket,store 与shop
①supermarket 指自选市场，往往比 store,shop 经营规模大，经营时间长。
She likes doing the shopping in the supermarket, because she thinks a supermarket has more goods than a shop.她
喜欢到超市买东西，因为她认为超市的货物比商店的货物多。
②store 与shop 均有＂商店，商场＂之意，总本上可以通用，美式英语常用 store，英式英语常用 shop。

man 作可数名词，意为＂男人；人＂，复数形式为 men。
I can see a cool man in the picture.

There are two men in the car.

man 作定语构成的名词短语变复数时，前后两个名词都要变成复数形式（类似的还有 woman）。
Our school has 40 men teachers and 60 women teachers.
我们学校有 40 位男教师和 60 位女教师。
Point 4 He’s now studying in the Unit ed States.他现在正在美国学习。
study 此处用作不及物动词，意为＂学习＂；作及物动词时，相当于 leam。
We are studying at school.
我们正在学校学习。
It’s important for you to learm/study English well.

【辨析】study 与learn
study
侧重于学习的过程。用于表示
比较高深或周密的＂研究＂。
作名词，选为＂学习，书房
＂。
He is studying the math problem.
他正在研究这道数学题。
The dictionary is in the study.
词典在书房里。
learn
侧重于学习的结果，意为＂学
会＂，用于初级阶段的学
习。learn from 意为＂向某人学
习＂。
The baby is learning to speak.
这个婴儿正在学说话。
We must leam from each other. 我们必须互相学习。

1. any other 意为＂其他任何一个＂，是指同一范围内除了某人或某物外其他人或事物。

【拓展】
（1）any 意为＂任何的，任一的＂，用法如下：
①any 一般用于疑问句或否 定句中，修饰可数名词复数或不可数名词，而肯定句中用 some。
Is there any water in the bottle?
瓶子里有水吗？
They don’t have any friends here.
他们在这里没有什么朋友。
②当表示建议、请求或希望得到肯定回答时，some 可以用于疑问句中，而不用 any。例如：Would you like
some coffee? 你想喝咖啡吗？
③any 还可以用作代词，在句中作主语或宾语。
There is no water in my bottle. Is there any in yours?
我的瓶子里没水了。你的瓶子里还有吗？
（2）other 意为＂其他的＂，侧重指＂两者中的另外一个＂。
One of my socks is here. Where is the other one?
我的一只袜子在这里，另一只在哪儿呢？
【辨析】other，the other，others 与the others
other 另外的；其他的
He is cleverer than all the other children in the class.
他比班上其他的孩子都聪明。
the other 两者中的另一者
I have two pencils. One is red; the other is green.
我有两支铅笔，一支是红色的，另一支是绿色的。
others 剩余的另一些（并非全部）
A lot of people are in the park. Some are singing; others
dancing.
许多人在公园里，一些在唱歌，另一些在跳舞。
the others 剩余的全部
I go swimming every aftermoon while the others play tennis.
