With a 4,000 square feet day-use lodge, the Leland High Snow Play has a huge supply of tubes to choose from
along with awesome tows ( 拖 车 ) that will tow you up to the top of the hill.Our varied terrains ( 地 形 ) have
something for everyone while the lodge provides a snack bar, video games, pool tables, five indoor rest rooms, a
warm fire and a sun deck with plenty of tables and chairs overlooking the play area outside.
Be sure to bring warm clothing and prepare for the cold, but dress in layers in case it warms up. Wear dry
boots, socks, and sunscreen. If possible, bring a mobile phone in case of emergency, as well as money for snacks
and a light dinner: or bring your own food and drinks.

Do not bring electronic or fragile items during the trip. The ARPD is not responsible for your personal
belongings or money.
Refunds are issued only if the ARPD cancels this trip due to weather conditions.

Weeks ago, the longest I had ever run was 5K.What’s more, I didn’t like running, so often I would fasten my
old shoes, walk out of the house with heavy steps, get less than a mile in and wonder why I was bothering,
especially when there are many more satisfying ways of exercising.Before last summer, I had never participated in
any kind of race at all.
At the end of July, I had completed triathlon(铁人三项) after two weeks of training. At the end of it came
the run----which ended up more like a walk. But afterwards, I realized something about it appealed to me. The
extremely painful fun of doing something I hated and was unprepared for turned out to be like a difficult task to test
my abilities and skills.
So when an invitation to do the Berlin Marathon dropped into my inbox a couple of weeks later, it felt like a
twist of fate. After the triathlon, hadn’t I been saying that I should start running, precisely because I hated it so
much? The joy of the triathlon had been that I challenged my limits. It felt necessary to find out again where those
limits might lie. There was a very good chance that I would not only fail but embarrass and hurt myself in the
process. But there were plenty of reasons not to do it, I said yes.
Marathon training is supposed to take at least 20 weeks or more, and that is for someone who has run before.
But I don’t even know what speed I’m aiming for. Finally the training plan becomes something to stop me
worrying when the race seems too frightening. This happens often, as I count the days to the race and picture I fell
over in the middle of a Berlin street. This anxiety feels sure to happen, but there is something equally unavailable
about the training plan; if I follow it, then I have done everything I can; if I do everything I can, then I can’t regret
what comes at the end. In the most extreme training week, I run about 40 miles.

When Americans think of the lunch menu at their childhood school cafeterias, they probably imagine a
shapeless, tasteless pile of mystery meat – plus some brown much(糊状物),to match. But for children in Japan,
school lunches are a rich experience where the students learn about culture and nutrition of foods.
“Japan’s standpoint is that school lunches are a part of education, not a break from it,” Masahiro Oji, a
government director of school health education in Japan, told The Washington Post.The food offered at schools in
Japan is affordable, fresh, and made by the students themselves. And Japanese children don’t just eat the food they
prepare; they learn about the nutritional and cultural elements of their meals, too. The food is grown locally and
includes a balanced menu of rice, vegetable, fish and soups. As a bonus, each meal costs just $2.50.
“Parents hear their kids talking about what they had for lunch,” Tatsuji Shino, the principal at Umejima
Elementary School in Tokyo, told The Washington Post, “and kids ask them to re-create the meals at home.”
Japanese students also learn cooperation and etiquette(礼仪)as they serve and clean up after each other.
Considering the fact that Japan has one of the world’s lowest childhood obesity rates(肥胖率), the U.S.
probably has a lot to learn from this country’s school lunches. A recent study found that American students who
regularly ate the school lunch – where foods to be chosen include pizza, chicken and French fries – were 29 percent
more likely to be obese than those who brought lunch from home.
