应用文写作
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am Li Hua, a high school student of our school. I am writing to express my concern regarding
certain issues in the school's library reading room. Recently, I have observed some students talking
loudly and littering, which disrupts other readers and creates an untidy environment.
I strongly recommend putting up signs to remind students to maintain a quiet atmosphere.
Furthermore, it would be highly beneficial to place more trash bins throughout the room. Additionally,
organizing student volunteers to assist in keeping the reading room clean and orderly would be of great
use.
By implementing these measures, we can transform the reading room into a peaceful and pleasant
space for learning and reading. Thank you for considering my suggestions.
Sincerely,
Li Hua

Then came the final testing day. The whole class gathered in the science classroom, watching
breathlessly as Jeff carefully loaded their self-made robotic hand onto Sergio's right arm. It fitted quite
well! So excited was Sergio that his arm trembled slightly. Having put a baseball on the desk, Jeff signed
to Sergio to pick it up. Slowly, Sergio extended his right hand and reached for the ball. Successfully he
caught hold of it and everyone present broke into cheers! Holding the ball, Sergio couldn't contain his
tears. Never in his life did he expect to catch something with his right hand!
The life-changing gift for Sergio drew huge attention. Jeff and his students became an instant hit and
various media competed to cover the news. When interviewed about the intention of the project, Jeff
said, “I intended Sergio's robotic hand to show our support for him. Meanwhile, I hope to foster
students' scientific spirit through this hands-on operation.” His students stated that Jeff challenged them
to turn abstract knowledge into reality, from which they benefited greatly. Soon voluntary donations
poured in, which would go to the school's scientific research and help students develop better.

Text 1
M: Hi! Mary. The doctor says you are well on the way to recovery. Do you have everything you need in the hospital?
W: Thanks, Brian. It would be nice to have a good book to read.
M: Consider it done.(英语习惯俚语。字面含义“就把它当作/认为已经是做好了吧”,言外之意也就是在说:就
算完成啦;没问题啦;放心吧;包在我身上!)
Text 2
M: Oh, dear! It is no use again!
W: You look upset. What’s the matter?
M: I told them over the phone what I needed the machine for. They said this one would do, but it doesn’t.
Text 3
W: Did you watch the 7 o’clock program on Channel 2 yesterday evening? I was about to watch it when my parents
came to see me.
M: Yeah! It reported the major progress in cancer research. People over 40 would definitely find that program worth
watching.
Text 4
M: I’m terribly sorry. I’m late, dear. I had along meeting at the office.
W: That’s OK. I arrived here only a moment ago because my car broke down and I walked all the way down here.
Text 5
M: Hi, Kendra. I’m Tony, Student President of Class 4. Mr. Jones told me to help you on your first day here. Ready for

science class?
W: Yeah. It’s nice of you to help me. I’m a little lost. Who’s our teacher?
Text 6
M: Helen, I heard that you wanted to be a gym teacher, didn’t you?
W: Yes, I did think about it. But it was going to be too expensive.
M: You mean the training?
W: Yes, you need to pay for the use of all the equipment, you know.
M: So you went to a nursing college.
W: I did. And I have no regrets.
M: Really? You enjoyed it?
W: Oh, very much.
M: Didn’t you feel sad that you couldn’t become a teacher?
W: Well, in away. But as time went on, I really began to like my job.
Text 7
M: I made us a pizza for tonight’s dinner. I baked apple pie, made the tomato sauce from our tomatoes in the backyard,
and I bought the cheese from a local farm about five miles away.
W: Yum! I can’t wait to eat it. You’ve been cooking a lot lately. Why the change?
M: I’ve gotten really into watching cooking shows. I’ve been interested in cooking for a long time, but I just decided to
give it a try recently.
W: I’m an okay cook, but I don’t enjoy it very much. It takes a lot of patience, which I don’t have.
Text 8
M: Josie, do you remember Jeff in my office?
W: Yeah. I have seen him before at your party, and you have told me something about him.
M: He left last week.
W: Left? Really? Do you know why?
M: He didn’t come in by Tuesday, so on Tuesday afternoon I called to see whether he was off the day or he was sick.
W: And what did he say?
M: No answer. I talked to my boss, and it seems that he tried to call Jeff the morning before me. But he couldn’t get
through either.
W: Strange.
M: Anyway, by the end of the day, Jeff sent an e-mail explaining everything.
W: An e-mail? So, why did he leave?
M: Well, he found a new job last month, but he forgot to tell us about it.
W: You’re joking! How can anyone do that?
Text 9
M: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Danny’s Show. I’m Danny. Let’s meet our first guest.
W: Hi, everyone. My name is Jane Couch. And I’m a professional boxer.
M: Tell us Jane, how did you take up boxing?
W: Um, years ago, I saw a film about women boxing in America. And I thought “Wow, amazing! I’m going to have a go.”
I didn’t ever think I’d be any good, but I’ll keep faith in that.
M: Were you always a sporty girl at school?
W: When I was younger, I was very unfit. I never used to do any sports.
M: What do your family and your friends think of you as a woman boxer?
W: When I first told everyone I was going to do boxing, they just thought I was mad. It was like “You can’t do that.
Women don’t box.”
M: How do you prepare for a match?
W: What I do, I come to the training camp to prepare for a match. So, I come like eight to ten weeks before each match.
Just spend the first few weeks getting into shape, and then, um, six weeks out, we start going into full-time training
twice a day, sometimes three times a day.
M: What’s the best thing about being a professional boxer?
W: Um... Certainly, the fitness is the best side of it. I mean, I’m fit and healthy and feel great in myself. And I got like a
lot of confidence as well. And like I say, I met some great friends, too.
