My dream home

Welcome to my dream home! It’s very large. It’s near the sea. I with my parents can often

have fun swimming there. On the ground floor, there is a big kitchen because I like cooking meals.

In front of the house, there’s a garden. I can enjoy beautiful flowers and have lots of fun there.

There’s a big balcony on the first floor. I can look out at the sea and the beach there. On the first

floor, I also have my own bedroom and study. I can read or chat with my friends in the study. Do

you like my dream home? I hope I can live in such a house some day.

Unit 2 Neghbours

My dream community

I hope we will have a beautiful community. It will be very big, but there won’t be many

people living here. We can see many trees and flowers. We will have a big garden, a swimming

pool and some playgrounds. We can have a good time playing there. We will also have a cinema.

We can enjoy films and parties in it. All the neighbours here will be kind and friendly. And some

of our neighbours will be volunteers. They will have different skills. If we have any problem, they

can help us.

We will be happy to live in a community like that.

Unit 3 Welcome to Sunshine Town

My hometown

My hometown is a quiet town. There is a lake and a park in my town. There are trees and

flowers in the park. I can smell the flowers and hear the birds sing there. It is a good place to go

walking. There are some small shops near the park. Most things are not expensive. It is a good

place to go shopping there. My favourite place is the lake. I often row a boat with my friends on

the lake at the weekend. My house is not far from the town centre. It’s about 20 minutes by bus

and there are buses to the town centre every day. I like my hometown. It is a really good place to

live.

Unit 4 Finding your way

I’m writing to invite you to my home for my birthday party. The party will start at 2 p.m. It is

Saturday. Some of our classmates will come and we will sing, dance and play games at the party. I

hope you can come too.

It’s easy to get to my home. Walk out of your house and turn right. Walk straight on and take

the second turning on the left. Go on, walk past a bus stop, and you will see a park. My home is

just next to the park.

Unit 5 Amazing things

The amazing world

There are many amazing things in the world.

Fish sleep with their eyes open. Our eyes are the same size from birth. A giraffe has a long

neck but there are only seven bones in its neck. A camel can live without water for a long time.

Snakes eat nothing for a long time in winter. The ant is small but it smells well. Some small

monkeys are only ten centimetres tall. Some people can write with one hand and draw with the

other hand at the same time.

Unit 6 Outdoor fun

Hello, everyone! Outdoor activities are fun. In our class, different students like different

outdoor activities.

Zhang Ling likes camping because she likes living outside, near beautiful hills and lakes. Wu

Chenyu would like to go riding. He thinks it is exciting and cool to ride a horse. When he rides a

horse, he looks like a hero. Liu Panpan enjoys skating.

She thinks skating is good for her health and it can also make her feel relaxed. I love running

because it can make me strong.

Unit 7 Abilities

I would like to recommend Bob for this year’s Best Student Award.

Bob is very clever. He learns everything quickly. He also works hard. He does well in every

subject and is always ready to help other students.

He is a member of the Helping Hands Club. He takes part in many different kinds of

activities like raising money or collecting books for the children in need.

He always thinks carefully and plans things well. He is polite to others and has good

manners.

Besides, Bob is good at sports. He is in the school basketball team. And he plays very well.

We all like him.

All my classmates think Bob should get the award. We look forward to hearing from you

soon.

Unit 8 Pets

My pet

I keep a tortoise as a pet.

I like it very much because it is cheap, quiet and lovely. It has a short tail and four short legs.

It has a small head and a hard shell. It likes to play in the water. It also likes to sleep in the sun.

When you touch it, it will put its head, its four legs and tail into the shell. I often feed it some

small fish. And I usually change the water in the tank.

My parents like it too because they think it is not any trouble.
