Julie is ten years old. Her brother Rick is eleven. Last year, their parents took them to Kenya

(肯尼亚) for their holiday. They had a wonderful time. Kenya is famous for its safari holidays. On

a safari holiday you stay in a national park and watch wild animals. Julie’s family did this. They

camped in the middle of a national park, far from any town.

There were guides with them, and the guides knew a lot about wild animals. During the day,

noisy. And sometimes they couldn’t sleep. Also, they said it was very very hot. But they loved

their holiday and they are going again next year.

In China, some students are anti-fashion(反时尚). They don’t like their parents’ clothes. They

are not like their parents. In summer they wear big sweaters. They are outside around their

（四）（2022·北京房山·七年级期中）

Class Afloat is a Canadian school on a tall ship! The ship is 210 feet(英尺) long and 30 feet

wide. It can take up to sixty students.

Not all the students are Canadians. They are from different countries. This year, there are also

students from Mexico, the US, Germany, and Turkey. The classrooms are well—equipped(设备精

良的) and comfortable, and there’s even a library!

The teachers design(设计) special study programs for each student. Because the school is a

ship, you can do some exciting classes, for example, Marine Biology(studying the animals and

plants in the sea) and History of Geography courses about the places you visit.

Students also learn all about sailing(航行)!

Students don’t just study. They must also clean, cook, and sail the ship. In their free time,

students can rest, read, or watch a movie.

Every sixteen to twenty days, the ship stops in a port(港口) for three to six days. In the port

there are lots for the students to do—home stays, camping trips, museum tours, cultural events,

hiking, and so on. They also go boating and do other water sports. Parents can meet up with the

students in one port every term.

Students also take part in two volunteer programs(志愿者项目) in Senegal and the

Dominican Republic. They help people in different ways. Students learn how, with just a little

money and time, they can help to make other people’s lives better than before.
