them.
地震总是发生得很突然，所以很难给予人们预警。
『知识点 1』“It’s＋形容词＋(for/of sb.) to do sth.”意为“(对某人来说)做某事是……的”。如：
It is kind of you to help me. 你能帮助我真的太好了。
It is important (for us) to learn English well. 对于我们来说，学好英语是重要的。
『知识点 2』warn 是动词，意为“警告，告诫”，其用法如下：
warn sb. about/of sth. ① 意为“警告某人注意/当心某事”。如：
They warned him of the dangers of sailing alone. 他们警告他独自航行的重重危险。
They warned us about the tigers in the forest. 他们警告我们要注意森林中的老虎。
warn sb. (not) to do sth. ② 意为“警告某人(不)要做某事”。如：
The police warn us not to go out at night. 警察告诫我们夜间不要出门。
He warned Peter to keep away from his daughter. 他警告彼得离他女儿远点。
warn sb. against doing sth. ③ 意为“警告某人不要做某事”。如：
He warned me against going there at night. 他警告我晚上不要到那去。
My teacher warned me against being late again. 老师警告我不要再迟到了。
warn sb.+that ④ 从句。意为“警告某人……”。如：
They warned her that she would lose her job. 他们警告她说她将丢掉工作。
The whistle warned visitors that the ship was ready to sail. 汽笛通知旅客船即将启航。

『知识点 3』jump out of 意为“从……跳出”；run out of 意为“从……跑出”；climb out of 意为“从……爬出”。
如：
Please don’t jump out of the window. 请别从窗子往外跳。

of fires.

『知识点 4』stay away from…意为“远离……”。如：Stay away from the dog. It may bite you. 远离那只狗，它可

『知识点 5』keep clear of…意为“远离……，不和……挨太近，避免”。如：
Please try to keep clear of trouble. 请尽量避免麻烦。// Keep clear of the river! It’s dangerous. 远离这条河流！它很危
险。
