今天早晨这节课是关于急救的，或者给某人基本的医疗帮助。

『知识点 1』aid 是名词，意为“帮助、救助”。first aid 意为“急救；急救护理”；in aid of 意为

“以帮助……”；with the aid of=with the help of 意为“在……帮助下”。如：

You should know how to do basic first aid. 你应该懂得如何实施基本的急救。

We should read some books about first aid. 我们应该读一些有关急救的书籍。

If I had known more about first aid, I could have helped them.要是我多懂得一些急救知识，我就能帮助他们了。

The man is badly ill, he needs first aid. 这个人病得很厉害,他需要急救。

We raise money in aid of the poor. 我们筹集资金以帮助穷人。

With the aid of a stick, the old man can walk by himself. 在一根棍子的帮助下，老人自己可以走。

『知识点 2』give sb. basic medical help 意为“给某人提供基本的医疗救助”。如：
