The changes of my city
Ladies and gentlemen,
I’m honored to deliver a speech on the changes of my city.
Initially, it’s obvious that there exist a wide variety of transportation means, making it convenient to
travel around. More importantly, people have promoted their own qualities because the advanced
technology provides us with more access to education. Besides, with the awareness of environmental
protection being raised/strengthened, our living surroundings is becoming more and more beautiful, which
adds a great deal to people’s happiness.
As far as I I’m concerned, it’s the joint efforts of every citizen that have brought such wonderful
changes to the city.

Paragraph 1 A few days later, something terrible happened to Frank. That afternoon after school, Frank
was bathing with some of his new friends in the river happily. Suddenly, he was stuck in the mud and
couldn't get out. He struggled hard but he was still trapped. He screamed for help, but all in vain. The boys
who had called Jerry a coward got out of the water as fast as they could. They were so scared and did not
even try to help him.
Paragraph 2 At that moment, Jerry happened to pass by. He heard the screams and ran to the river as soon
as possible. Seeing Frank was almost drowned, Jerry took off his clothes immediately and jumped into the
water without any hesitation. He reached Frank just as he was sinking the last time. With great effort and
with much danger to himself, he brought Frank to the shore in time. Jerry was happy to help his friend,
though he was extremely exhausted.
