play from the text Turandot. Now, I’m writing to ask for your guidance.

In the play, Turandot, a stubborn and cruel Chinese princess, avoiding marriage at first, ends up

marrying the prince Calaf. However, confused and upset, we fail to use proper tone to express the

characters’ feelings vividly. Hopefully, you will do us a favor.

If it’s convenient for you, let’s meet at 10: 30 on Saturday morning in the school library.

Allison tried to turn the boat so we would hit the wave head on, but it was in vain. The crash of the

enormous waves was so fierce that the boat turned over in an instant, throwing all of us into the turbulent

water. Panic-stricken, I floated up and down at the mercy of it. All of a sudden, Allison yelled at the top of

her lungs, “Keep swimming!” Hearing the screams, Jenny and I sped to swim towards the shore

desperately. Having struggled for miles, I was exhausted and gradually lost my consciousness.

When I awoke I didn’t know where I was. I glanced around, only to find Allison and Jenny staring at

me anxiously. “Are you OK?” Jenny asked concernedly. I nodded weakly and asked them what had

happened. Pointing at the strangers around us, Jenny explained excitedly, “Spotted by the rescue team, we

escaped narrowly.” I gazed at them gratefully, tears rolling down my cheeks. Then I embraced them tight,

murmuring in a choked voice, “It is so kind of you to have saved us...”

W: I bought it in Wal-Mart. It was expensive — it cost 200 yuan. I found the same item in a Chinese store

for 20% less.

W: No, I’m not going anywhere now.

M: Why? What happened?

W: I lost my train ticket.

M: Oh, no! Where do you think you lost it?

W: I’m sure that I had my ticket this morning. When I was in the bank changing money, I saw it in my

purse.

M: Where did you go after that?

W: To the gym. After that, I went to a shop. I’m almost certain that the ticket fell out of my purse in the

shop as I was buying a drink.

W: I have been very tired these days. I just want to stay at home and listen to some music.

M: But it’s a good time to go out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Let’s go mountain climbing.

W: But it’s a long way away.

M: Well, let’s go to see a movie.

W: John, I’m just too tired to do anything. Jenny wants to see a movie on Saturday, though. I can call her

and book your tickets in advance.

M: Good. Don’t forget to tell her to bring her student card. There is a 50% discount on Saturday.

W: But last Monday, it was only a 20% discount.

M: Well, from Monday to Friday, it is a 20% discount. On Sunday, it is a 30% discount. But there is usually a

bigger discount on Saturday.

W: I see.

M: What happened? You have mud all over you, and your trousers are torn. What did you do?

W: I tried to learn how to ride a bicycle. Johnny promised he wouldn’t let go, but he lied. I hit a stone and

flew off onto the ground.

M: Did you hurt your leg?

W: No, but my left hand hurts a little.

M: Why did you try to ride a bike?

W: I thought it would be fun. But now I know it isn’t.

M: So, you have decided to give up?
