World population hits 8 billion
The global population reached 8 billion on Nov 15, 2022. The number is forecast 1(increase) in the
next few decades, although at a slower pace, according to the World Population Prospects 2022 report
released recently by the United Nations.

predicts that global population growth could fall to about 0.5 percent by 2050 as fertility rates continue to

China's Shaanxi completes restoration of centuries-old tomb
XI'AN, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Researchers in northwest China's Shaanxi Province completed the
restoration of 1 ancient tomb with rare brick carvings and murals 2(date) back to the Jin Dynasty (1115-
1234), local authorities said.
The tomb 3 (discover) at the construction site of an expressway in Yan'an City, Shaanxi, in 2010. With
cracks on the walls and murals fading, the tomb was 4 (late) moved to the Shaanxi Institute for the
Preservation of Cultural Heritage for protection and restoration.
