The last time I tried something new
It’s easy for us to stay at the comfort zone, but we need to try new things to learn more. I still remember
my last trial.
Last week, my parents were both on business, telling me to order takeaways as usual when they left.
However, I decided to try cooking a simple dish by myself. I searched on the Internet to find out how to make
fried tomatoes and eggs. I did every step as the Internet instructed. Finally. I finished my first dish.
Only by cooking the simple dish do I believe I have grown up and that my parents needn’t worry about
me when they are busy.
第二节 (满分 25 分）
Whenever I finished a new story, I would turn to Henry. Gradually, I found Henry was really a good
advisor as well as an excellent /warm listener. Although he couldn’t read, he had a clear mind and a gift for
polishing stories by asking questions. Every time I shared my new stories with him, he always listened
attentively and provided valuable suggestions for me. I had never thought my reading to Henry could arouse
his talent for stories, which contribute to an unexpected cooperation. Later, several more stories were
published and I was well paid.
I decided to use the money to help Henry. However, I didn’t know what
Henry wanted/ needed most. When he touched the pages dearly on which my stories were printed, it occurred
to me that Henry should have the privilege to enjoy the beauty of words too. Therefore, I chose/decided to
sponsor his education. Learning what I had done for him, Henry was too moved to say anything but overjoyed
to be my schoolmates. He even joked that he could get pearls, being the happiest man in world.
