Location & Dates:
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks have Campground Host positions available in each district of the
parks. In Kings Canyon, we are looking for hosts in the Grant Grove and Cedar Grove areas and in Sequoia, we are
looking for hosts in Dorst, Lodgepole, Mineral King, and the Foothills. Most campgrounds are open from May
through November although the campground located in the Foothills is open during the whole year.
Duties:
Assist with kiosk（售货亭）operations.
Rove（环顾）campgrounds and educate campers on park and campground regulations.
Provide information to visitors on recreational opportunities in the park and surrounding areas.
Provide information to visitors regarding the National Recreation Reservation Service used for reservations in
the National Park System.
Participate in the park-wide safety program; inform visitors of potential dangers in the park.
Qualifications:
Camping experience. Ability to work independently. Good communication skills. Ability to relate to children
and adults of diverse backgrounds. A positive attitude. Good listening skills.
Benefits to Volunteer:
Personal experience working in a national park setting. Job training and experience in working with the public
and an opportunity to interact with park staff and visitors of varying backgrounds and experiences.
Working Conditions:
Hosts will work a minimum of 32 hours per week, which includes weekends. In return for your volunteer
work, you will be given a free campsite. You will need to provide a recreational living unit. Volunteer uniforms and
park radios are provided. A government car will be provided for official duties.
