Suddenly, John slowed down and sat onto the ground with a sharp pain. On spotting his painful look, I
ran up to him as fast as a bolt of lightning. Much to my surprise, his ankle was sprained badly. In that split
second, I tried to help him stand up and move forward, but he shook head to say no. In the meanwhile, he
signed to me to run after the others so that I could win the first place. Suddenly, I was trapped in an instant
dilemma. My strong desire to overtake John was flashing in my mind. But in an instant, I decided without
hesitation to accompany him to take a rest. Then we ran slowly forward together. Although we were
overtaken by others, a sense of relaxation was surging in my mind. The moment we finally crossed the finish
line together, John cast a grateful look at me.
A reporter photographed this touching scene and posted it online. Immediately, such a big hit did the
photo become that countless likes were flooding in. Numerous strangers sent emails to praise me, leaving me
lost in thought. In fact, I was indecisively torn in the beginning, but the moment I decided to help John, I felt
relaxed with birds warbling in the trees and the gentle wind stroking my face. Happily, I made the right
choice and did the right thing. Surely, friendliness comes before competition.
