I had an amusing experience last year. After I had left a small village in the south of France, I drove on to the next town.
On the way, a young man waved to me. I stopped and he asked me for a lift. As soon as he had got into the car, I said good
morning to him in French and he replied in the same language. Apart from a few words, I do not know any French at all.
Neither of us spoke during the journey. I had nearly reached the town, when the young man suddenly said, very slowly,
'Do you speak English?' As I soon learnt, he was English himself!

【知识点一】系动词
(一)系动词概述
1.系动词亦称联系动词,作为系动词,它本身有词义,但不能单独用作谓语,后边必须跟表语(名词、形
容词等),构成系表结构说明主语的状况、性质、特征等情况。
2.常用系动词有:be 是;make 使;become 成为;get 成为;feel 感觉;look 看起来;smell 闻起来;sound
起来。
(二)be 动词用法(是)
1.现在式:am, is, are
过去式:was, were
Mr.Brown is an engineer.(名词做表语)
She is beautiful. (形容词做表语)
The twins were very busy yesterday.(一般过去时;形容词做表语)
(三)其他系动词(后面多加名词或形容词原级)
make 使
We made him our monitor. make sb./sth. 名词)
We must make the river clean.(make sth./sb. 形容词)
The good news made us excited.(make sth./sb. 形容词)
What makes the grass grow?(make sth./sb. do sth.
become 成为
He became ill yesterday.
He became a teacher at the age of 17.
feel 感觉
The cloth feels soft.
The water feels cold.
look 看起来

【知识点二】实义动词
(一)实义动词概述
实义动词意思完全,能独立用作谓语。实义动词有及物动词和不及物动词(及物动词是指后面要有直接宾语
的动词;不及物动词指后面不需要跟宾语的动词) 即行为动词,表示动作的动词。
(二)及物动词 vt.(要求有宾语)
有些及物动词只有一个宾语(单宾语),有些可跟间接宾语和直接宾语(双宾语),或跟宾语和宾语补足语(复合
宾语),例:
I like the book very much.我很喜欢这本书.(单宾)
My teacher lend me some books.我的老师借给我一些书.(双宾语)
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from her.我一接到她的信就通知你.(复合宾语)
